The day Smudge was born, his back legs were torn off during birth.

The Story of Smudge

This Smudge, he has a rather unique story. His Mommy Tami, stated to me that he is the most amazing little creature you will ever meet. Yes, he is a rat, which mind you do make great pets.It all began when Smudges mom had a very hard birth, with this litter. As Smudge was born his two rear legs were torn off as she was trying to get him out. Tami was uncertain whether the lil guy would survive, "should she put him out of his misery or help him to survive". She opted to help him survive after pondering it for 2 days. She decided that she would let "a higher power" decide if he lives, and obviously the higher power won and wanted him to survive and has quite nicely.
Now, almost 3 months old, the family is totally in love with him, even though he will never be a shoulder rat or be able to jump.  Smudge doesn't let this disability stop him in any way. He will come out to play at night when the baby is sleeping, have some cottage cheese to snack on, explore for a short time then curl up on the window sill and go to sleep. He also thoroughly loves playing with the baby.

The Story of Brittnie Savannah

Brittnie Savannah is 4yrs old and is a mix of chihuahua and pomeranian from what her mommy said. When Brittnie was just a lil baby only weighing 3lbs, when she was brought to her new home, her mommy (Taylor) only being 14 yrs old at the time fell madly in love with this lil gal. Her mommy was looking at her spots and suddenly realized that they weren't spots at all. They were fleas....she was totally infested with them. Her mommy went screaming to her mom and her mom wanted to take the puppy back to where she had gotten her, but they had already bonded, so Brittnie's mommy started to pull the fleas off when her mom came in and they put the puppy in a bucket of water with flea treatment, they would later find out from the vet that this was a very dangerous thing to do, but also stated that with the amount of infestation that the puppy would of died within days from infection. So they basically saved her life even though it was not really a good thing to do.
Her mommy states that she will be leaving for college in the fall and it is going to be very hard for her and Brittnie, as they are inseperable. She cries even when she gets in the car and drives away and then when she returns she insists her mommy carry her around for at least an hour. She states that Brittnie is her baby and she loves her more than anything and comes first before any other relationship. She said she has more toys and clothes than most toddlers and likes to throw them around the room for her mom to clean up later. She said she's a little spoiled but she deserves it. She is the most beautiful dog out there....

The Story of Bud

Bud was found on the side of the road after is mother was run over by a car. Aaron who is Kristel's brother found him and brought him home to take care of him till he could go out on his own. Kinda became his new mama/dada, Kristel's children were able to help in feeding him and playing with him and making him strong so he could eventually be released when he was old enough to fend for himself. As you can see by the pictures, he looks very healthy and definately did not want for anything or love. When Bud was old enough and able to take care of himself he was released back into his natural surroundings.

Jenny

Steve and Lori are Jenny's proud parents. Jenny is 12 1/2 yrs old and just the apple of her parents eye. She is a mixed breed of standard poodle, labrador and possibly portuguese water dog. Jenny loves to talk to her nana on the phone and like most dogs totally loves to devour the squeaker out of stuffed toys. She loves to play fetch, the only problem is she doesn't like to bring it back to you. Her very favorite thing is to take mommy and daddy on walks in the morning or afternoon depending on the season. Her parents say, there truly are no words to express how much they love her. I can see why.
